Roger Waters & The Bleeding Heart Band - Quebec, Canada 5/22/87 Professionaly recorded by Westwood One FLAC

Roger Waters & The Bleeding Heart Band
Quebec, Canada 5/22/87
Professionaly recorded by Westwood One

I have done three uploads of this recording. One is a Nero image file which will burn an exact copy of the silver CD with CD text added for CD text capable players, the second is a bin file for use with Image burn or other compatible programs (including cue file). This CD will be found when using CDDB to get information on it!

Lineage: Silver CD>Copied by Nero 6.3.1.6 adding CD Text>CD-R>.nrg file (Nero Image file)>you

Second upload is flac files of this recording including original AND alternate artwork.

Lineage: Silver CD>EAC>wav>flac>you

As is my custom, I have created a playlist file and added the original artwork to the flac files using the great MP3TAG program. I have ripped this myself, includes front cover artwork. Enjoy!

Track List:

01 Radio Waves
02 Welcome To The Machine
03 Money
04 In The Flesh
05 Have A Cigar
06 Pigs
07 Wish You Were Here
08 Mother
09 The Final Cut
10 If
11 Powers That Be
12 Breathe
13 Brain Damage - Eclipse
14 Another Brick In The Wall

Track listing on the original artwork lists track 12 as Brain Damage, but when you CBDB the disc it comes up properly as Breathe. Track 13 shows as Eclipse but is Brain Damage/Eclipse. This is the famous Quebec show professionaly recorded by Westwood One. This has been highly bootlegged, but I haven't seen this particular release on any blogs or torrents (they may be out there, I just haven't seen them)l. The quality is astounding and Roger & The Bleeding Hearts were really on that night. The versions of the Pink Floyd songs have a bit of funk added to them by the guys and the result is great! I saw the Hartford show on that tour and it still ranks as one of the top five shows I have ever seen. I only wish the interplay between the DJ Jim Ladd, Billy, and everything else that went on during the show was here, but I think you can get a lot of that elswhere, though not at this level of quality. Enjoy the heck out of this and please leave a comment!

Bruce Springsteen and The E Street Band - Live To Run - 12-31-1975 FLAC

Bruce Springsteen
and the E Street Band
December 31, 1975
Tower Theatre
Philadelphia (Upper Darby), PA

Uber Series: Vol 33

Generous/Mysterious Uber --> CDR --> EAC --> FLAC Frontend

At first blush, this tape might seem a bit ho hum as a complete
soundboard recording of the 12/31/75 show has been in circulation
for years (as are other nights from the same stand). But make no
mistake, you have never heard this before.

The previously circulating soundboard (generally attributed to be
sourced from the late, great Ed Sciaky) was recorded live to
two-track, likely on cassette or perhaps reel, and it sounds a lot
like other '75 board sources. But it turns out a multi-track
recording was also made on 12/31/75, and in early 1976 those
multi-tracks were mixed down to stereo for consideration of a live
album that never happened.

These nine songs are taken directly from the 1976 production reels
of those mixes and offer what is arguably the finest live recording
of the era. Undoubtedly, the official Hammersmith release sounds
great, but it was mixed in 2005, not 1976. If you thought
Springsteen was in your living room on the WGOE session, the entire
E Street Band is there this time.

Track Listing
1 - Night
2 - 10th Avenue Freezeout (slow)
3 - Spirit in the Night
4 - Does This Bus Stop at 82nd Street?
5 - It's My Life
6 - Pretty Flamingo
7 - It's Hard to be a Saint in the City
8 - Mountain of Love
9 - Jungleland

It's pretty much safe to say that had any of those songs, apart from Spirit and
Saint, made the Live 75-85 set, said live set would have been that much better.

I have changed file names to track titles, added all relevant info to tags and tagged artwork to the files. Audio is untouched by me. -RMac©

I have always been a big fan of when Jimmy played with the Crowes having had in the collection previous amateur videos which were pretty good to say the least and the various audio bootlegs that were available to us all right through to the official release from the Greek Theatre in 1999. This release is a welcome addition to any collector, Jimmy whilst playing with the Crowes was always on fire, some people regard the vocalist as being "Tame / weak / not Robert Plant etc" should ignore this fact, cause this is all about Jimmy playing old zep standards at some of his highest standards. The highlights for me were Lemon Song, Celebration Day, In My Time of Dying. Lets not forget that the Crowes are a pretty tight and professional band and can certainly handle their instruments. The DVD itself is indeed a pro shot, where it come from who knows and who cares, the picture quality is fantastic with multi camera angles, there is a minor tape flaw in places but this does not detract from the viewing at all. The sound is simply fantastic also. This is a fantastic release and a master class in guitar playing, the intermingling of Jimmy with the Crowes guitarists is fantastic, such a pity they stopped playing. A big thumbs up on this one to the people who released it, lets hope for more. (Big Lee From Tipton Jan 07)

I converted this for use on my iTouch and thought I would share that as well. Also included is two different versions of DVD artwork. Just for the record, I happen to think Chris Robinson is an excellent vocalist. He is different than Robert Plant and while being true to the original spirit of the Zeppelin songs, he also adds some of his own flair, which is much better than someone just trying to be a Plant replacement. I've seen the Crowes live a few times, in clubs, medium size venues and at MSG on New Years Eve once, and they have always been great. This show is no exception. Enjoy!

This one sounds great! Original uploader's notes below:

Thanks to 3hrsoflunacy for continuing to supply me all the great Page & Plant audio.

Both sources were put into the multi-track function of Adobe Audition 3.0 and synced, the audience source's volume was boosted. Mastering was done after syncing. During mastering, levels at 150 Hz and below were boosted to emphasized the low tones, and levels at 12000 Hz and above were slightly lowered, this was done in an attempt to give an equal balance to all the instruments and vocals.

Both the audience and soundboard sources sounded amazing on their own, hopefully the combination of the two does as well.

The Beach Boys - SMiLE (unreleased studio) 1966 - FLAC

OK. This is true Rock N' Roll history. The harmonies of the Beach Boys are 100% amazing and if you appreciate the history of popular music this is essential listening. This version of the legendary unreleased SMiLE album, (one of Brian Wilson's works of genius) is presented by Purple Chick known for her fan releases of Beatles works.

I can't say enough about the quality of this release. It is outstanding. It is a pleasure to listen to, start to finish. The historical value is worth the download alone. I don't know how long this will be up here because a version of this was officially released in 2004, though very different (Brian Wilson re-recorded much of the content and much of what is presented here is not in the official release). I have renamed all the tracks with proper titles, tagged everything with all information and artwork as is my custom. It is my honor to present to you possibly the most talked about unreleased album of all times, The Beach Boys unreleased classic "SMiLE".

24: I'm In Great Shape/I Wanna Be Around/Workshop (mono)
25: Vega-Tables (mono)
26: In Blue Hawaii (with mono sections)
27: Good Vibrations (stereo - original lyrics)

Brian Wilson's 2004 arrangement of SMiLE as performed by the Beach Boys back in the day. In glorious STEREO, just like it says on the cover. We decided to do it the way we imagined which necessitated edits, manipulation, speed tempo and pitch correction, etc. Despite killing all the sacred cows it sounds mighty fine to us.

seeder's note:
There have been many, many other attempts at reconstructing SMiLE. This one is by far the best I've heard. It all flows together beautifully, the arrangements and cuts are probably as good as we're going to get. Also, unlike any other version, it's almost completely in stereo. I think only "On A Holiday" is mostly mono, by necessity. Good Vibrations really packs a punch.

So if you're downloaded other versions, you might want to take a chance on this one also.

A BRAND NEW ZEPPELIN SOUNDBOARD
September 24, 2009 – 1:26 pm Every now and then, someone in the community floats a new show. Well, this time it’s a Led Zeppelin soundboard of the 1975 tour. Enjoy.

LED ZEPPELIN
Long Beach Californication [Empress Valley Supreme Disc EVSD 523-525, 3CD]
Live at the Civic Arena, Long Beach, CA, March 11, 1975. Very good soundboard.

This show has been circulating as a very good audience recording for a while, thanks to the efforts by the legendary Mike Millard (click here). Now Empress Valley has unveiled a soundboard recording of the show.

This is what the Underground Uprising Led Zeppelin website (www.uuweb.led-zeppelin.us) noted:

“While an excellent audience recording may better capture how the band overall was actually heard in the venue, a soundboard recording better captures how the band members did perform (and enjoy or struggle) on stage. The rule also applies to this release. For instance, it more clearly and vividly captures how Bonzo played his drum kits and yelled on stage.

“Although the tape is slightly distorted at the beginning, there is no noticeable hiss noise in the new soundboard, except that there is a very noticeable digital error at the end of Moby Dick. Accordingly, it could overall be deemed as one of the best and most well-balanced soundboard recordings from the band’s ‘75 shows. (Incidentally, in this title, EV elected to use the Millard tape at the beginning of CD1 in order especially to include the famous exciting opening announcement of “The American Return of Led Zeppelin!”.)

“In the latter half of the show, the band in fact played very well, even better than on 12 March [click here] in some places. For instance, Dazed And Confused is spectacular from ‘75 standard and Stairway To Heaven is flawless and gutsy. Jimmy also played better in the funcky section in Whole Lotta Love than on the following day.”

Van Halen – “Hurricane Halen” 2004-09-17 – Atlanta, GA
(Soundboard)

For those that asked for it, here it is! Took me a long time to find it again. Enjoy!

OK. This is a band and a tour that is near and dear to my heart. This was the first tour with Sammy in about a decade, but Eddie was kind of messed up at the time. Some of the songs on this recording are awesome, and some the band sounds like crap. Sammy sounds great thru the whole thing. Some of the backup vocals are just flat out bad and Eddie screwed up some here and there. Even in the shape Eddie was in, this recording is of such good quality it is well worth having. A messed up Eddie Van Halen is still better than 90% of everyone else out there. Up For Breakfast, Eagles Fly and Seventh Seal are among my faves on here. Grab it and judge for yourself. Two different Album covers included.

R.I.P. Michael Jackson

I am very saddened by the death of Michael Jackson. My prayers are for the children and family he left behind.

Yes, Michael was a strange man, and possibly an un-convicted criminal, but he was also a product of exploitation from his youth, and I feel that he always was seeking to recover the childhood that was robbed from him.

I will always miss the performer that was Michael Jackson. He was one of a kind and a boundlessly blessed performer. After his performance of Billie Jean at Mowtown 25 in 1983, he recieved a call from Fred Astaire complimenting his dance moves. That's like Babe Ruth calling you and saying "that was some home run you hit" or Bruce Lee complimenting your fighting skills.

I saw Michael Jackson in concert twice, back to back nights at Giants Stadium on the Jacksons "Victory" tour. It was an unforgettable experience. His renditions of "She's Out Of My Life", the Jackson 5 songs of his youth (and mine) and the songs off his "Thriller" album were absolutely amazing.

The first night, my cousin and I left the stadium right after the last number in an attempt to beat the traffic out of the stadium. On our way to the car we passed a fenced in area that contained a helicopter. The helicopter rose and left the area within seconds of us being there and as it rose we could see a figure dressed in sequins in the passenger seat. My cousin said "it's him!" and we both waved excitedley. We were the only people around. A second later we could see one gloved hand waving back at us. It is a memory I will always treasure. The L-rd be with you Michael. I hope you have found peace.

Jimmy Page and Robert Plant - "Simple Truth" - The Shark Tank - San Jose, CA - May 20, 1995 "TISDU" FLAC & mp3

Jimmy Page and Robert Plant - "Simple Truth" - The Shark Tank - San Jose, CA - May 20, 1995 "TISDU"
Kiss the Stone Records - KTS 450/451
Superb Soundboard Recording probably from Pre-FM Broadcast.

This show was recorded by Westwood One and parts of it has been aired from time to time. I have the silvers from one of the broadcasts and only a few songs were aired at that time. This is the same quality, albeit mono, therefore I am led to believe this is from the master recording of this show. For some reason it was converted to mono (why the hell do the bootleggers do this?). I ripped it and did the Tisdu process on it, and it sounds much better than the original mono on the silvers, in my opinion.

This is a fresh rip of this 2-cd set by me. I Love this set and have the silvers so I thought I would rip it for those that don't have it.
Lineage: Silver CDs > Wav (CDex) > Tisdu using Audacity > Traders Little Helper/FLAC Level 8 > Front cover and details tagged to FLAC files using Mp3tag v2.42

I scanned all the artwork at 300 pixels per inch. The scans came out very good. Includes the whole fold-out insert, scans of the actual CD's and both sides of the tray insert. I haven't seen all this art anywhere else, not even the Zeppelin art website so I hope people enjoy having it.
m3u playlist files created as well.

OK. For more details on Tisdu, check this: http://www.geocities.com/michaelmcgennan/sound.html

Tisdu is basically simulated stereo. The interesting thing is that different things are heard in each ear even tho it is just "enhanced" Mono. What I did on this particular release is as follows: Ripped to wav, had both disc as full files and inserted .05 seconds of silence on the begining of the right channel, then upped the whole volume to 110% of the original (to give it a little more punch, there was no clipping), then reduced the left channel to 80% of that (see the Tisdu page above for the reason for that, I assure you the right side doesn't sound louder on the final product). Then I seperated each track from the whole and encoded to FLAC Level 8. I also split the Hurdy Gurdy Solo from Nobody's Fault but Mine and split Four Sticks from In The Evening. My preference. It's my party and I was doing this for me first, and that's the way I like it (uh-huh, uh-huh), so feel free to NOT like it if you want :-)

FFP, ST5 and MD5 files included with the FLAC version.
