The Beach Boys - SMiLE (unreleased studio) 1966 - FLAC

The Beach Boys are finally releasing the official version of what Rolling Stone Magazine has called "the most famous unfinished album in Rock & Roll history". It hits stores in the USA Nov. 1st, UK Oct. 31st.

You can download this fan created version from the links below, but I encourage you to buy the Official Release at http://www.thebeachboys.com -RMac©

This is true Rock N' Roll history. The harmonies of the Beach Boys are 100% amazing and if you appreciate the history of popular music this is essential listening. This version of the legendary unreleased SMiLE album, (one of Brian Wilson's works of genius) is presented by Purple Chick known for her fan releases of Beatles works.

I can't say enough about the quality of this release. It is outstanding. It is a pleasure to listen to, start to finish. The historical value is worth the download alone. I don't know how long this will be up here because a version of this was officially released in 2004, though very different (Brian Wilson re-recorded much of the content and much of what is presented here is not in the official release). I have renamed all the tracks with proper titles, tagged everything with all information and artwork as is my custom. It is my honor to present to you possibly the most talked about unreleased album of all times, The Beach Boys unreleased classic "SMiLE".

Very Unnecessary Bonus Tracks:

18: Vega-Tables (vocals only)
19: Our Prayer/Gee (mono)
20: Heroes And Villians (mono)
21: Roll Plymouth Rock (mono)
22: Child Is Father Of The Man (mono)
23: Surf's Up (alternate)
24: I'm In Great Shape/I Wanna Be Around/Workshop (mono)
25: Vega-Tables (mono)
26: In Blue Hawaii (with mono sections)
27: Good Vibrations (stereo - original lyrics)

Brian Wilson's 2004 arrangement of SMiLE as performed by the Beach Boys back in the day. In glorious STEREO, just like it says on the cover. We decided to do it the way we imagined which necessitated edits, manipulation, speed tempo and pitch correction, etc. Despite killing all the sacred cows it sounds mighty fine to us.

seeder's note:
There have been many, many other attempts at reconstructing SMiLE. This one is by far the best I've heard. It all flows together beautifully, the arrangements and cuts are probably as good as we're going to get. Also, unlike any other version, it's almost completely in stereo. I think only "On A Holiday" is mostly mono, by necessity. Good Vibrations really packs a punch.

So if you're downloaded other versions, you might want to take a chance on this one also.

Notes from Wooda:

Wrongly dated for far too long, it's time to set the record straight.
THe mighty VH never played another show at the civic after this date, so throw away all those 12/20/77 average sounding boots, and settle into this experience complete with rehearsals

QUALITY: What can I say about this show except that it smokes all 12/2077 versions you will find, and Unlike all those wrongly dated boots, this one comes complete with the rehearsels.
Just who is the Sandy that DLR is giving a shout out to during the Ain't Talkin' Bout' Love rehearsal?
Well go dig yourself up a vinyl copy of the first LP and find out for yourself!!!!

NOTES: This is what they thought would be their final club show before the first tour, but they did manage to get in a few more.

I have tagged art and song info, and made a playlist. This is a must for VH fans.

Enjoy!

Mudslide (TDOLZ Vol. 44)

Heartbreaker, organ solo/Thank You, What Is and What Should Never Be, Communication Breakdown (include. Ramble On), We're Gonna Groove, Since I've Been Loving You, Whole Lotta Love (middle cut).

March 21, 1970 show in Vancouver. Opinions are split on this tape. Some call it a "night to forget," were others call this a "demonic display." This release uses the soundboard tape source (not from vinyl). This is a title that is required for any collection. TDOLZ have packaged it using the TMQ cover, making this a celebration of the original vinyl release. The tape is poorly edited, but it definitely worth having. Communication Breakdown, with the Ramble On interlude, We're Gonna Groove, and Heartbreaker are definite stand outs. (Gerard Sparaco Jan 2000)

Led Zeppelin - Complete BBC Radio Sessions - Empress Valley Supreme Disc - FLAC

This is a nice bit of history folks. The quality varies on these recordings, some tracks are flat out perfect, some are just ok. All are listenable. FFP and md5 files included. I have tagged all tracks with song titles and artwork and created playlists for each disc. This is a must have for Zep fans. Please note, these tracks are in the "as broadcasted" original form. For the CD release of Led Zeppelin on the BBC, many of these tracks were omitted and many were overdubbed. This is the Raw Led Zeppelin playing live. Enjoy!

Jimmy Page - Outrider Tour - Cleveland 10-19-1988 FLAC (repost)

Jimmy Page
Outrider Tour - Cleveland 10-19-1988

This is from a French silver "The Outrider Tour" that was taken from an FM broadcast of the entire Cleveland show. The original artwork has incorrect info for the track listing. I photoshopped and corrected the track listing. I have included the wrong listing for those that might want it. I have seen the location listed as "Public Hall, Cleveland, Ohio", art says "Cleveland Music Hall". Unsure if this is pre-FM, though it seems that it is as there is no DJ banter etc.

When I first posted this I was accused of converting this from MP3 to Flac. I assure you that is not the case. I ripped it from CD and the EAC log is included. I cannot however tell you what the bootlegger did. It sounds great to my ears. If any of you sound nuts want to run a spectrum analysis on it, I'd like to know.

This is the first of many reposts I will be doing.

01 Who's To Blame
02 Prelude
03 Over The Hills And Far Away
04 Tear Down The Walls
05 Emerald Eyes
06 Midnight Moonlight Lady
07 In My Time Of Dying
08 Wasting My Time
09 Custard Pie
10 Train Kept A Rollin'
11 Stairway To Heaven

Cast of players:

Guitar - Jimmy Page
Vocals - John Miles
Bass - Durban Laverde
Drums - Jason Bonham

John Miles is quite an outstanding singer with a great vocal range. He is able to pull off covering songs originally done by both Robert Plant and Paul Rodgers, two legendary vocalists, as well as singing songs originaly crooned by the great Chris Farlowe. To me, the highlight of this disc is Midnight Moonlight Lady. In the middle of MML, Jimmy breaks into White Summer, then Black Mountainside and back into MML. Wonderfully done.

Rapidshare Files to be deleted

Any files I have on cRapidshare are scheduled to be deleted.

I no longer do business with them because they change policies and format way too often. I'm sick of the BS and have chosen to use Fileserve and Hotfile only.

I will try to upload previous posts onto one of these sites when I can. Some of my posts will simply be gone, never to be replaced. All I can say is if something has been deleted that you would like, request that it be re-upped and I will do my best.

Pink Floyd - The Dark Side Of The Moon - Live At The BBC 1974-11-16 Pre-FM SBD - FLAC

Pink Floyd
Recorded Live at Wembley Empire Pool, London, England
November 16th, 1974

Source: Possibly direct transfer from BBC Master?

This release is simply titled "Pink Floyd - The Dark Side Of The Moon - Live At The BBC 1974"

(BBCP-60015)

Lineage: Silver CD's > EAC > Wav > Flac

The OBI and artwork for this release has the EMI logo, though this is obviously not an official release.

I'm putting this one out there for the completists, the Pink Floyd freaks and the art freaks.

I don't believe this source is any different from the ones already out there (see above), but the sound on this is awesome. I love listening to this. I'd like to hear feedback as to if it is identical to the Harvested release.

This download includes 300dpi scans of the excellent artwork included with this set, which is the main reason I bought it. The visual presentation is stunning. Great packaging. This claims to be a Japanese release and is packaged as such, but it is more likely a Russian bootleg as the source I got it from was in Russia. The foldout was scanned in peices due to it's size. The only thing I did not scan was the reverse side of the foldout which is all in Japanese. I ran out of steam at that point, sorry. Also included is a cue sheet files that actually works, and a playlist files as well as an md5 file. If you post this on another site, please include these notes un altered and give credit to TTD. Also, please don't convert to crappy lossy files like mp3 except for your personal use.
Enjoy! Ralphster5150 aka RMac©.

Track listing:

Geetarz Comments:

This is the oft-discussed PBS "In the Spotlight" program, featuring the one and only network broadcast of Martin Scorcese's Eric Clapton documentary, "Nothing But the Blues". The PBS program was only aired once, 1995.

Various copies of this broadcast are in circulation, all from broadcast sources of differing quality.

There was a home video release of "Nothing But ..." planned for the summer of 1995. Warner Music was in the pre-order process and taking orders. Some promotional copies were sent out as well, but were later recalled when the release was cancelled, for reasons no one has been able to ascertain.

The previous Geetarz / Button of this program was sourced from one of these Warner promo tapes, with stereo audio added from the radio show audio.

Some time ago I received in the mail an unmarked envelope with no return address; the postmark was from a large city where I have any number of friends and trading buddies. Imagine my surprise when I popped the DVD into my player, only to find what appears to be a pristine copy of "In the Spotlight", direct to DVD from a PBS Station master. Whoever you are ... THANK YOU!

The original DVD was burned on a standalone recorder. Standalone recorders are convenient but at times produce some noncompliant errors in the video stream. I was able to extract the program material and generate new navigation information in order to have a 100% compliant DVD-Video. THERE WAS NO RECOMPRESSION OF ANY OF THE VIDEO OR AUDIO STREAM. Any addition or subtraction to the program material would have necessitated re-encoding the program material, and in this case everyone deserves to get the "real deal" in the utmost quality possible.

PBS' broadcast is properly referred to as "In the Spotlight", and it does not contain the epic performance of "Driftin'" found on the "Nothing But the Blues" promotional copies. Still, in terms of video quality alone, this is an essential document and required viewing for any fan of Eric Clapton's blues material. At least until the suits at the record companies get their heads out of their asses and officially release this on DVD!
