The White Stripes' first performance in Brazil, definitely a nice showcase of the 2003 tour.

Jack throws in the songs you'd usually expect in any concert of that time, nothing absurd (perhaps because they were here for the first time?). It seems that the TV broadcast cut out the parts where Jack spoke to the crowd, making it look like the crowd was providing a cold reception. However, I assure you that this is a great concert, with the band in great shape.

The meaty part of the DVD is the middle, with an awesome sequence of Death Letter and Little Bird, and a beautifully captured In The Cold, Cold Night, the end of which might surprise you (Meg'n'Jack cuteness attack!).

There are chapter marks after each song and a menu.

Free trade only. Never sell

Enjoy!

  1. RMac I'm nearly speechless! I've wanted something like this for a long time. Tried to buy Under Blackpool Lights but it seems it's now unavailable. Can't wait to watch this. Nice find! Thank you.

  2. I'm not sure what to make of this..The md5 verifies ok, but I get this message from Nero: [One or more files (mostly VOB file(s)) do not belong to the corresponding IFO file
DVD-Video files reallocation failed. The resulting DVD-Video might be unplayable]

I burned it anyway because I really wanted to see this, and it does play. This is one I'll be watching often, great show & great quality!
But The menu is giving me problems. The highlighted cursor you navigate through the menu with is not there when the DVD first loads. Only after I stop it and then press play will it work..it automatically starts playing at this point, then I can go back to the menu and the cursor is there(hope I explained this clearly). Its a small problem I can live with, but if you know how to fix this it would be greatly appreciated.

It would be nice to find an unedited version of this - maybe the audio is out there somewhere?

  3. I had a similar problem when I burned mine. Maybe try ImgBurn and or burning at a slower speed. Unfortunately it is what it is and I don't have the knowledge to correct it. When I watch it on my pc it has a similar menu quirk, but I can view the whole dvd no problem.

  4. Is there any chance you can do an iPod version of this. I can't seem to make it work?
    Thanks.

  5. This WILL work if you use VLC or Power DVD to watch it. With VLC it will give you an error at first but open the menu screen. At that point click the "next media in playlist" button and it will start the dvd from the first song.

The problem lies with the poor mastering of this DVD. I wish I had the knowledge to re-do the DVD myself, but I don't. Because of the poor mastering, none of the programs I have to convert DVD's to iPod format can convert this. Sorry. I will be offering another White Stripes DVD I just got which I know is 100% error free. Look for it later this coming week.
