  2. First of all I want to thank you for all the great stuff I've found on your site. I especially appreciate the DVDs. This one is going to take me at least a week though(rapid has become less friendly to free users lately) - but for zep I would keep at it for a month if I had to! I was wondering though, what program you use to convert to iPod video? I would like to try putting a movie on mine. I just recently traded up from a shuffle to a nano, and I'm about to test the video feature out with your Page/Crowes iPod video. Thanks again! If yours isn't a free program but you know of one also, please let me know.
    Take care!

  3. Your welcome! First I must say I am a PC user, so this doesn't apply to mac users. I use two programs to convert to iPod/iTouch video.

To convert DVD's I first rip them to my Hard Drive using DVD Decrypter. It kind of old by now but still works great for most DVD releases and virtually all bootleg DVD's.

Then to convert to .mv4 format I use a free program called Handbrake. It's a great program and converts to many formats, not just iPod. It will rip at different quality levels per your preference. On the video tab I generally set the files size to between 425 and 525 mb depending on the length of the video. Otherwise it will make much larger files. Files between 425 & 525mb are perfect resolution for the iTouch. Any bigger and it just takes up more space on your touch.

To convert other video files for use on my iTouch, I use Videora iPod Touch converter. It also works great and you can adjust files size-quality easily.

I have used other programs as well, but have encountered lots of problems with the synching of audio and video. I have had virtually no problems using either of these programs.

If you have a hard time finding any of these programs on the web (a quick google search should suffice) I can always post them here since they are freeware. Hope this helps.

  4. Thank you so much for this - the August 4 show is relatively easy to come by on DVD, but this has been a LOT more difficult to find (in my experience)!

  5. Thanks for the great advice. Handbreak works like a charm...on my second try anyway. I had the presets on normal not iPod the first time, not sure why it didn't work with that setting though(it did make an m4v file). Still learning the software! I haven't got to Videora yet, but I have the page bookmarked. I had Decrypter already so at least I had one leg up on this process. Your iPod videos work and look great, picked up Stevie and Plant a while ago too. Amazing stuff!
One and a half links yet to go on this one(kept at it till 4am last night). Its definitely going on my iPod as well. I can't thank you enough!
    All the best.

  7. Hello there rmac... ty for the upload btw! I don't know if anyone else has had problems with this download, but I've come across a couple of them. Disc 1 stops on me during Jones' solo for No Quarter-- Disc 2 stops on me during Achilles. I can't seem to get it to play past those songs- I did receive a couple of unrar errors- I just don't know which rars to redownload. As you mentioned above, it does take quite a bit of time to download- even more when you don't have a rapid share account. Any ideas? I would even go as far to pay you to send me this on DVD. I want this that badly :) I will look back here in a few days to see if you have any ideas or if my later idea is okay w/ you. many thanks

  9. Well, I've been on a marathon download of rars since my last post... I have finished relownloading all of these, and I'm very happy to say- IT WORKED!!!:) I guess I just had a download error in one or more of the rars. It's late now(lol)- bedtime for me. Again, thank you for the posts on your blog; you have some music that you just won't find elsewhere!

  10. Glad it worked for you. Once in a while a download might get screwed up, it's been happening to me lately too. I will include verification files in all future posts so that DLer's can check the files after downloading.
